CORD has built the capacities of over 400 Traditional Birth Attendants to implement PMTCT/HCT services for case finding or referral where HCT could not be provided. They are also trained to implement post-natal support and community follow-up intervention for HIV-positive pregnant women and mother/infant pairs from point of diagnosis through referral to the end of breastfeeding. These include counseling and support for nutrition/breastfeeding, ART adherence including babies first ART, Early Infant Diagnosis (EID), and maternal/child health education.
